He and Susan were members of the Old Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Jasper, Alabama. Wash died 20 August 1916 and is buried in the Bennett Cemetery, Jasper, Walker County, Alabama along with Susan and Frances. The children of Wash and Susan were: David Roby, 1875; Robert Calvin, 1877 and Celia, 1883, all born in Walker County, Alabama but Robert Calvin born in Fayette County, Alabama.
