William de Bryan was born 1349 in Wakwyns Castle, Pembroke.  He died 20 March 1412. William was a son of Guy de Bryan V and Elizabeth de Montagu. He married Joan Fitzalan. Joan was a daughter of John Fitzalan de Arundel and Eleanor de Maltravers. She died 01 September 1404. They had a son, Thomas Brienne (Bryan). [This entry is in question ]. Many records state there was no issue from this marriage. Joan FitzAlan married after William de Bryan's death and had children as a result of that marriage.

Thomas Brienne (Bryan) was a son of  John FitzAlan de Arundel and Eleanor de Maltravers. He was born in 1368 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England and died 11 October 1444 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. He married  Margaret Echyngham, born in 1358 in Benningbrough,  in 1387. They had a son, Edmund Bryan born 1412 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire and died 1470 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. [Of course, this entry is in question as well ]. Who was this Thomas' father? Is he even the father of Edmund Bryan? The questions of this and the previous entry have yet to be answered.

Edmund Bryan was born 1412 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire and died 1470 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. Edmund married Alice Bures, daughter of Robert Bures in 1437. She was born about 1416 in England and died about 1475 in Sognog Fjordane, Norway. Edmund and Alice had a son, Thomas Bryan, born 1438 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England.

Thomas Bryan was born 1438 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England, a son of  Edmund Bryan and Alice Bures. He died  in 1500 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. In 1463, Thomas married Margaret Browsey, born in England in 1442. They had a son in June 1464 they named Thomas Bryan, born in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England.

In 1487 in Yorkshire, Thomas married Margaret Bourchier, born in Benningborough, Yorkshire, England in 1468, and died Buckinghamshire, England.  Margaret was the daughter of Humphry Bourchier and Elizabeth Tilney. Thomas and Margaret Bourchier Bryan and a son in 1490, named Francis Bryan, born in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England.

Francis Bryan, a son of  Thomas and Margaret Bourchier Bryan, was born in 1490 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England. He died 2 February 1550 in Clonmet, Tipperary, Ireland.  He married Joan Fitzgerald before 28 August 1548. Joan was the daughter of James Fitzmaurice Fitcgerald and Amy Turlough O'Brian. She was born in 1529 in Desmond, Ireland and died in 1565 in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, England.  They had a son, Francis Bryan III, born 1549 in Clere, England.

Francis Bryan III was born in 1549 in Clere, England, the son of Francis Bryan and Joan Fitzgerald.  He died 1 June 1649 in Gloucester, Gloucester County, Virginia. Francis married Ann Smith, daughter of Sir William Smith, in 1580 in Clere, England. Ann Smith was born in 1560 and died in 1635. Her father, Sir William Smith, was born  1532 in County Clair, Ireland, married ___ about 1545 in County Clair, Ireland and died between 1560-1616. Francis and Ann Smith Bryan had a son, William Smith Bryan, born about 1588, born in Buckland Monachorum, Devonshire, England.

William Smith Bryan was born about 1588 in Buckland Monachorum, Devonshire, England, the son of Francis and Ann Smith Bryan. William died about 1656 in Gloucester, Gloucester County, Virginia. On 17 September 1618, in Old Flemish Parish Lion Street, Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands, William married Catherine Thatcher.  Catherine was born 1613 in Willingdon, Sussex, England and died after 1672 in Gloucester County, Virginia.  The couple had a son, Francis Bryan, born 1651 in Gloucester, Virginia. In addition there were nine siblings: Elizabeth, James, Henry, Roger, William, Richard, margaret, Thomas and Edward. England's Cromwell had William Smith Bryan sent to Virginia about 1610, as a rebellious subject". Bryan came in at York River, across from Yorktown, Virginia. Bryan settled in Gloucester County.

Francis married Sarah Bouchett, born in Nansemond County, Virginia and died after 1715 in Nansemond County, Virginia. Francis and Sarah had a son, William Smith Bryan born to them in Ballymoney, Down, Ireland on 1 June 1685.

William Smith Bryan was born in Ballymoney, Down, Ireland on 1 June 1685 and died 1789 in Salem, Roanoke County, Virginia. He was the son of  Francis Bryan and Sarah Brinker Bryan. He married Margaret Brockers, born 1685 in Roanoke, Roanoke County, Virginia and died in Salem, Botetourt County, Virginia,  in 1710 in Down, Ireland.  William an Margaret had a son, John Andrew Bryan, born in 1712 in Banbridge, Down, Ireland.

John Andrew Bryan was born in 1712 in Banbridge, Down, Ireland, and died 11 November 1799 in Mollys Creek, Campbell County, Virginia. He was a son of William Smyth Bryan and Margaret Brockers.  On 18 March 1742 in Rockbridge County, Virginia, he married Mary Morrison. Mary was born 1 May 1742 in Fairfield, Rockbridge County, Virginia and she died in 1810 in Mollys Creek, Campbell County Virginia.  John and Mary had a son, Andrew Morrison Bryan, born 25 April 1748 in Salem, Roanoke County, Virginia.

Andrew Morrison Bryan was born 25 April 1748 in Salem, Roanoke County, Virginia and died 20 April 1821 in Jamestown, Greene County, Ohio, the son of John Andrew Bryan and Mary Morrison Bryan. Andrew married Mary Akers in 1772 in Campbell County, Virginia. Mary Akers was born 15 March 1754 in Campbell County, Virginia and died 17 February 1823 in Jamestown, Greene County, Ohio. In 1773 in Campbell County, Virginia, this couple had a daughter, Nancy Bryan.

Nancy Bryan was born in 1773 in Campbell County Virginia, a daughter of Andrew Morrison Bryan and Mary Akers Bryan. She married  George St. John on 3 March 1793 in Virginia.  She died in Cannon County, Tennessee.
