William Thomas Farley, Born 9 March 1879, Pineville, Wyoming County, West Virginia [Picture]. He died 10 March 1965 Portsmouth, Virginia. He married 28 May 1902 in West Virginia, Lucy Alice Clay Born 25 August 1882, Pineville, Wyoming County, West Virginia. She died 23 December 1960, Portsmouth,Virginia. Children: Edowa, Glattrus and Volga Farley. Edowa died as an infant. Glattrus Farley was born 5 May 1906, in Welch, McDowell County, West Virginia. She died in Portsmouth, Virginia, August, 1980. |

She
married three times. First Glattrus married Ray Duwel in Welch,
McDowell County, West Virginia, 4 August 1923.
The Duwel couple moved to the Cincinnati, Ohio area and had a
child, Thomas Duwel. In 1930 they were living in Deer Park, Hamilton
County, Ohio. Several years later they divorced and she moved
back to McDowell County. Thomas stayed with his father in Ohio.
Glattrus eventually married second to Lewis M. Spangler of McDowell Countym West Virginia. The Spanglers moved to Portsmouth, Norfolk County, Virginia after World War Two began. Lewis worked in the Norfolk, Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth. Glattrus also worked in the Naval Shipyard during the war as a truck driver. In 1962 the Spanglers moved to Nansemond County, Virginia. Nansemond County,later merged with the city of Suffolk which was in the county and took on the name of Suffolk. Lewis Spangler died in Suffolk. Thirdly, Glattrus married Scott McCurry who had recently lost his wife. Scott McCurry and his wife had been friends of the Spanglers for many years. Scott died a short time later. Glattrus died in a hospital in Portsmouth in 1980. |
