Salina Hart, daughter of Stephen hart

Salina Hart was born 1845, a daughter of Stephen and Mary Hart.  They resided in  Roane County, West  Virginia . There has been some mix up between the families
of John and Rebecca Hart and the families of Stephen and Mary Hart.  This website has now attempted to get these family's straight.   Follow this link for more information

Salina’s brother, Kelly Hart fought for the Union side during the Civil War.  Members of the Stephen Hart family were Union sympathisers and the John Hart family were
Confederate sympathisers.

It is said according to Morton’s History of Pendleton County, West Virginia, “ the father of Michael Harold was assassinated, an official of high position in the church.The widow
 took the small child to Maryland, USA.  Later she moved to Pendleton County, West Virginia.


Michael Harold married and had two sons, Andrew and Michael, Jr. Michael Jr. married Catharine Varner, daughter of Peter Varner.Michael Jr.and Catharing was parent of
Elias born March 1, 1812, died April 9, 1891. His wife, Barbara America Simmons, was the daughter of Michael and Catherine Wooten Simmons. Elias and Barbara
were married September 1, 1835 in Pendleton Co. and came to Roane County about 1850,


Barbara Simmons and Elias Harold had these children:

1.Elizabeth Ann born ca. 1837, married James Vaughan

2.Mary Ann b. 26 April, 1838, 

Married (1) Arthur White 

(2) Solomon Runner

3.Jesse v. 17 June, 1840, married Mariah S. Ogden 

4.Daniel b. 20 September 1842, d. 20 April, 1924

                Married: (1) Mary Vaughan

                (2) Salina Hart

5.Michael b. March 1848,Married(1)Elizabeth Ogden. 

                                 (2) Sarah Elizabeth Rogers

                        6.William b. 3 June 1852, married Deborah Cottrell

7.Nancy Jane b. 1850, married William M. Hunt, son of Adam and Polly Keen Hunt

8.Mary Catharine b. 23 February 1855, married George A. Rhodes

                        9.Harriett b. 20 May 1856, died young

                        10.JohnChristopher b. 24 December 1858, d. 23 April 1904, 

Married (1) Mary Luverna Drake

               (2) Carolina Isobel Hardway.


Jesse Isaac Harold and Daniel Harold served in the Civil War.


In the 1860 US CENSUS Elias Harold is shown as age 60 and Barbara age 58, both born in Virginia.John C., age 21 was residing with them.
